Liver Cancer

Liver cells grow and multiply in an abnormal state, forming malignant tumors, mainly divided into primary liver cancer and metastatic liver cancer (caused by other organs)

  • History of liver: hepatitis (e.g. hepatitis B/C), cirrhosis

  • Lifestyle: Long-term alcoholism

  • Chemical substances: Taking toxic chemicals, long-term exposure to environmental pollutants (such as polyvinyl chloride)

Causing Factors

  • Weight loss

  • Ascites causes abdominal distension

  • Right upper quadrant discomfort, abdominal pain

  • Pain in the upper abdomen and right shoulder

  • The skin and white of the eyes are yellowish, and the bile pigment accumulates in the blood, causing jaundice.

  • Surgery: Liver resection, mainly for primary liver cancer

  • Chemotherapy: Using special anticancer drugs to disrupt the proliferation of cancer cells, thereby killing them

  • Targeted therapy: Targeting drugs that inhibit vascular endothelial growth factor to suppress cancer cell growth and vascular proliferation

  • Immune System Therapy: Improves the human immune system to strengthen its ability to fight cancer cells

  • Others: Liver transplantation, radio-frequency ablation, high-intensity focused ultrasound therapy, and stereotactic radiotherapy (e.g. Cyber Knives)
